Caras-Severin county as a tourist area

Resita is the capital city of Caras-Severin, a mountain county laying in south-west Romania, at the Serbian border. While large in area, the population is rather small due to the vaste mountain and forested surfaces.

Mountain depressions are the main habitated and industrial areas. Resita is a city of around 100,000 population, stretching along the valley of Barzava river.

A county with a rich industrial tradition, Caras-Severin has a high tourism potential, present during all seasons. The Semenic, Mt. Mic or Tarcu mountains and Baile Herculane resort are just a few of the most renowned destinations for Romanian and foreign tourists alike.
